Parks Canada and Google launch virtual online tours of parks and historic sites

Parks Canada has teamed up with Google to offer virtual tours through more than 70 parks and historic sites across the country.

Google Street View can now be used to explore the likes of Banff National Park, the Rideau Canal and Halifax Citadel national historic sites, Green Gables Heritage Place and Emerald Lake in Yoho National Park.

The images from the parks and historical sites were captured this spring and summer, starting with the Fortress of Louisbourg in Nova Scotia, which is 300 years old this year.

Parks Canada and Google plan to continue the project by digitizing more sites next year.
