Pennsylvania district: Use bathroom matching biological sex

GIBSONIA, Pa. – A school board in the Pittsburgh suburbs will no longer allow students to use bathrooms based on their expressed gender identity.

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review (http://bit.ly/2cCnpaj ) reports the Pine-Richland School Board had been allowing that but voted 5-4 Monday night to formally adopt a policy requiring students to use the bathroom corresponding to their biological sex, or unisex restrooms.

The board had discussed the policy since March and had been allowing students to use bathrooms based on their stated gender identity. The U.S. Department of Education has warned school districts that they could lose federal funding if they don’t do that.
