Quebec provincial police arrest 28 in crackdown on juvenile pornography

MONTREAL – Quebec provincial police say they’ve arrested 28 men in a sweeping crackdown on online juvenile pornography.

Most of the suspects have already appeared in court on several charges, including possession, distribution and production of child pornography.

Lt. Jean Lafreniere told a news conference in Montreal today that some suspects may be charged with sexual assault.

Police allege a five-year-old boy was the victim of one of the accused.

Authorities have seized 28 computers and filed 61 charges in all, with other arrests in the works.

The operation began this summer and included the RCMP and other municipal police forces.
