Man’s body found in North Thompson River in Kamloops

The body of a man was found in the North Thompson River in Kamloops on Sunday.

The body was found near a dock in the 1700 block of Clifford Avenue at around 7:10 p.m., June 23, according to an RCMP media release.

“Based on what was observed during the initial police attendance, the person appeared to have been in the water for sometime,” Kamloops RCMP media relations officer Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in the release.

“We are still working to confirm the person’s identity and notify his next of kin.”

Both RCMP and BC Coroners Service are investigating.

Anyone with information about the man’s death are asked to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2024-19632.
