Soprano Anna Netrebko says she has split with bass-baritone Erwin Schrott

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Opera singers Anna Netrebko and Erwin Schrott have separated.

The soprano’s spokesmen issued a statement Monday saying her relationship with the bass-baritone had ended “amicably” after six years.

Netrebko cites “demanding schedules and the resulting constant time apart” as the reason for the split.

The pair have a 5-year-old son Tiago. It’s not clear whether Netrebko and Schrott ever married.

She says “we treasure the time we spent together and of course remain devoted parents to our son.” She adds: “We are also committed to honouring our scheduled joint professional appearances.”
