Stolen booze, vet equipment and ID recovered in Lake Country raid

Two suspects were arrested during an RCMP raid at a home in Lake Country last month as part of an ongoing property crime investigation.

Officers from Lake Country, the Kelowna police dog service and the emergency response team descended on a home in the 10000 block of Copper Hill Place on Thursday, July 25, according to an RCMP media release issued today, Aug. 7.

The search warrant was the result of a lengthy stolen property investigation in the  Central Okanagan.

RCMP said thousands of dollars worth of stolen alcohol, veterinary equipment, identification and ammunition was seized.

A man and woman were arrested and released as the investigation continues.

“This investigation was driven forward by the dedication and professionalism of the Lake Country RCMP GIS and frontline officer teams,”  Lake Country RCMP media liaison Cpl. Ryder Birtwistle said in the release.

“The ERT and PDS units were instrumental in deploying specialized equipment and tactics to ensure a safe entry and arrest. This project and search warrant was in line with the detachment priority of targeting and reducing property crime. Lake Country RCMP will continue to target all criminal activity in the community.”
