RBC Taylor Prize for non-fiction announces its 2014 jury members
TORONTO – Andrew Westoll, former winner of the Charles Taylor Prize for Literary Non-Fiction, will now serve as a judge for the newly rebranded award.
Westoll’s book “The Chimps of Fauna Sanctuary” won last year’s $25,000 award, which has been renamed the RBC Taylor Prize.
The former primatologist from Toronto will serve as a juror for the 2014 honour.
Other 2014 jury members include British-based English Canadian literature professor and critic Coral Ann Howells, and Toronto editor, publisher and arts consultant James Polk.
The long list for the 13th instalment is due out Wednesday.
The finalists are due out Jan. 15 and the winner will be announced at a gala luncheon on March 10 in Toronto.
The prize was established in 1998 by Noreen Taylor in honour of her late journalist husband.
