Salmon Arm woman killed in crash near Revelstoke

REVELSTOKE – A 26-year-old Salmon Arm woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash on the Trans-Canada Highway west of Revelstoke early this morning.

RCMP say the woman was driving a 2015 Jeep Patriot westbound on Highway 1 near Eagle Creek at approximately 3:45 a.m. today, March 12 when the vehicle left the road, plunged down an embankment and hit a tree.

The woman died at the scene despite the efforts of passing motorists and Revelstoke firefighters, according to an RCMP media release.

The woman’s identity has not been released.

No word yet about the cause of the crash.
