Hamilton books high on Amazon bestseller list

NEW YORK – The day after “Hamilton” won 11 Tony Awards, books related to the musical are also thriving.

The paperback edition of Ron Chernow’s 2004 biography about the country’s first treasury secretary, the inspiration for Lin-Manuel Miranda’s show, was No. 1 on Amazon.com as of midday Monday. A book about the show’s creation, “Hamilton: The Revolution,” was third on the bestseller list. The hardcover of Chernow’s 800-page book was No. 14.

Ranking at No. 2 on Amazon was yet another book based on a stage production, “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child – Parts One & Two.” The show, which J.K. Rowling has called a sequel to her seven Harry Potter novels, is currently in previews in London.
