The Latest: Missing diver’s body found near Manhattan Beach

MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. – The Latest on the search for a diver near Manhattan Beach Pier (all times local):

1:26 p.m.

The body of a missing scuba diver has been found off the Southern California coast.

The Coast Guard said that a dive team from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department found the 45-year-old man deceased Monday near Manhattan Beach.

Coast Guard Petty Officer Sondra-Kay Kneen says a friend reported Jeff Tolly missing Sunday morning about three miles north of the Manhattan Beach Pier.

Crews using boats and a helicopter searched the area all day Sunday and resumed Monday until the body was found.

The Coast Guard and Los Angeles County lifeguards are searching for a man who disappeared while diving off Manhattan Beach Pier.

Coast Guard Petty Officer Sondra-Kay Kneen says a friend of the 45-year-old diver reported him missing Sunday morning.

Kneen says the man was last seen about three miles north of the pier while wearing a black diving suit, black fins and a black scuba tank.

Crews using boats and a helicopter searched the area all day Sunday and efforts are continuing Monday.
