QMJHL roundup: Armada unload offence on Remparts in 5-2 win

BOISBRIAND, Que. — Xavier Villeneuve and Justin Carbonneau each scored twice as the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada defeated the visiting Quebec Remparts 5-2 in Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League action on Monday.

Theo Lemieux also scored for the Armada (5-4), who outshot the visitors 28-20.

Jayden Rousseau and Justin Cote scored power-play goals for the Remparts (5-4-1-0), while Nathan Quinn and Maddox Dagenais each collected two assists.

The Armada led 2-1 after the first period and the teams were tied 2-2 heading into the third.

The Remparts went 2-for-4 on the power play, while the Armada went 0-for-4.

VAL-D’OR, Que. — Antonin Verreault and Evan Courtois each scored twice as the visiting Rouyn-Noranda Huskies defeated the Val-d’Or Foreurs 6-3.

Ty Higgins and Thomas Verdon also scored for the West Division-leading Huskies (4-2-1-2), who outshot the Foreurs 41-26.

Samuel Fiala, Alix Durocher and Donovan Arsenault scored for the Foreurs (2-6-1-0).

WILDCATS 5 ISLANDERS 1

MONCTON, N.B. — Julius Sumpf scored twice as the Moncton Wildcats dumped the visiting Charlottetown Islanders 5-1.

Gabe Smith, Markus Vidicek and Preston Lounsbury also scored for the Wildcats (6-1-1-0), who outshot the visitors 44-30.

Marcus Kearsey scored for the Islanders (3-6-0-1).

SHAWINIGAN, Que. — Chad Lygitsakos had a goal and assist as the Shawinigan Cataractes defeated the visiting Gatineau Olympiques 3-1.

Julien Lanthier and Felix Lacerte also scored for the Cataractes (6-3), who outshot the visitors 32-21.

Jeremie Minville scored a power-play goal for the struggling Olympiques (1-8).
