Top Okanagan hockey team, wines at event centre this weekend
PENTICTON – Wines and hockey pucks will be poured and dropped respectively at the South Okanagan Event Centre this weekend.
The Valley First Grand Finale Consumer Tastings event, the oldest and largest wine event of the Okanagan Fall Wine Festival, will run tonight and tomorrow at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre. More than 80 wineries will showcase and pour more than 200 wines. There'll be a souvenir wine glass, artisan breads, gourmet cheeses and live music.
Guests can also learn what are the best cheeses to eat with what flavour of wine from the Dairy Farmers of Canada and how to swirl wine in your glass like a pro from wine tasting seminars.
Tickets are only $65 for Friday or Saturday night and a two-night pass will cost $110. They can be purchased in-person at the South Okanagan Event Centre box office and at the Wine Country Visitor Centre. Tickets are also available for purchase online and over the phone at 1-877-763-2849.
Once wine is consumed there is a hockey game going and only a short walk away at the arena. The Penticton Vees will take on the Powell River Kings at 7 p.m. on Friday and 6 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets can be purchased at the door and online.
