VANCOUVER – The Vancouver Canucks got some healthy bodies back in the lineup for their game Saturday night against the Calgary Flames.
Goaltender Roberto Luongo and forward Alex Burrows both returned from injury. Centre Henrik Sedin also dressed. There were concerns the Canuck captain could miss the match due to a rib injury suffered in Thursday night’s loss to the Phoenix Coyotes.
Centre Mike Sanorelli missed the game with an upper-body injury.
Burrows had been sidelined since Dec. 1 with a broken jaw. Luongo missed six games with an ankle injury suffered in a Jan. 4 loss to the L.A. Kings. Prior to that he had missed three games with a groin injury.
Sedin extended his streak of consecutive games played to 679, second best among active players in the NHL. He was questionable for Saturday’s game after being slashed in the ribs by the Coyotes’ Martin Hanzal late in the game against Phoenix.
