Province announces disaster financial assistance for Thompson-Nicola region

Yesterday the province announced that financial assistance is available for those who qualify within the Thompson Nicola region.

Disaster Financial Assistance (DFA) is available for all municipalities, electoral areas, and First Nations within the Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD), according to a media release.

The TNRD covers the following 11 municipalities: Ashcroft, Barriere, Cache Creek, Chase, Clearwater, Clinton, Kamloops, Logan Lake, Lytton, Merritt and Sun Peaks

Assistance is available to qualifying home owners, residential tenants, small business owners, farm owners, charitable organizations, and local governments.

Those impacted by flooding after Apr. 26, 2018 may apply to the Province for DFA where losses could not be insured or where other programs are not available.
