TORONTO – Some of the most active companies traded Wednesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:
Toronto Stock Exchange (13,988.20 up 36.43 points):
Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Transportation. Down four cents, or 1.01 per cent, to $3.91 on 20.3 million shares.
Torex Gold Resources Inc. (TSX:TXG). Miner. Down 22.5 cents, or 16.48 per cent, to $1.14 on 11.5 million shares.
Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. (TSX:CNQ). Oil and gas. Up 39 cents, or 1.09 per cent, to $36.14 on 10.5 million shares.
BlackBerry Ltd. (TSX:BB). Wireless communications. Up $1.08, or 9.93 per cent, to $11.96 on 9.4 million shares.
Air Canada (TSX:AC.B). Airline. Up 72 cents, or 8.04 per cent, to $9.67 on 8.3 million shares. The airline says preliminary estimates show its domestic pension plans had a small surplus as of Jan. 1, contrasting with a $3.7-billion solvency deficit a year earlier.
Penn West Petroleum Ltd. (TSX:PWT). Oil and gas. Down 81 cents, or 8.97 per cent, to $8.22 on 6.1 million shares.
Toronto Venture Exchange (980.44 up 0.48 of a point):
Madalena Energy Inc. (TSXV:MVN). Oil and gas. Down seven cents, or 8.97 per cent, to 71 cents on five million shares.
Great Western Minerals Group Ltd. (TSXV:GWG). Miner. Up three cents, or 30 per cent, to 13 cents on 4.6 million shares.
