Matthews, Knight score two apiece to lead Edmonton over Vancouver 9-8

LANGLEY, B.C. – Mark Matthews and Curtis Knight each scored two goals and three assists to lead the Edmonton Rush over the Vancouver Stealth 9-8 in National Lacrosse League action on Saturday.

Zack Greer scored two goals and helped on another, Jarrett Davis and Cory Conway each scored once and added three assists, and Robert Church scored once for Edmonton (4-0).

Rhys Duch scored three goals and added two assists, Lewis Ratcliff scored two and had three assists, and Cliff Smith, Brett Hickey, and Ilija Gajic each had one goal each for Vancouver (2-3).

Edmonton goaltenders Brodie Macdonald and Aaron Bold both spent time in net, with Macdonald stopping 23 of the 27 shots he faced. Bold made nine saves on 13 shots through just over 15 minutes.

Vancouver’s Tyler Richards made 49 saves in the losing effort.
