One person injured as truck-size boulders rain down over Highway 3 in B.C.

KEREMEOS, B.C. – Three vehicles were caught in a rock slide as boulders the size of pickup trucks rolled over Highway 3 between Keremeos and Hedley, B.C.

Police say a female has the only injuries among those in the vehicles caught up, and she went to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The slide occurred about eight kilometres west of Standing Rock at around 12:30 p.m. Monday.

Police aren’t sure when the highway will be reopened.

Heavy equipment is being bought in to help remove the debris and large boulders from the slide that is about 150 metres wide.
