KAMLOOPS – The wildfire continues at Allie Lake.
At noon on Saturday, May 26, an area restriction for Crown land in the vicinity of the Allie Lake wildfire came into effect to accommodate operational requirements. A media release says it will remain in place until noon on Oct. 31, 2018, or when the order is rescinded.
The Allie Lake wildfire-area restriction remains in place to protect public safety and to ensure the safety of firefighting personnel who continue with fire suppression activities.
This order applies to Crown land within the geographic boundaries described below and as shown on the map below.
Under this Order and section 11(2) of the Wildfire Act, a person must not remain in or enter the restricted area without the prior written authorization of an official designated for the purposes of the Wildfire Act, unless the person enters the area only in the course of:
a) travelling to or from his or her primary residence;
b) travelling to or from private or leased property for the purpose of accessing his or her secondary residence or recreational property;
c) using a highway as defined in the Transportation Act;
d) travelling as a person acting in an official capacity; and
e) travelling for the purpose of supporting wildfire suppression activities.
