Former Maple Leafs enforcer Tie Domi to publish his memoir for release in 2015

TORONTO – Former Toronto Maple Leafs enforcer Tie Domi is stickhandling another role away from the ice: author.

Simon & Schuster Canada announced on Tuesday that it will publish Domi’s forthcoming memoir.

The ex-NHLer will co-write the book with sports reporter Jim Lang.

The as yet untitled memoir is due for release in the fall of 2015.

The book will document Domi’s career and experiences beyond the rink, and look at his life after professional hockey since his 2006 retirement.

In addition to the Leafs, Domi also played for the New York Rangers and the Winnipeg Jets during his 17-year career in the NHL.

Domi spent 11 seasons in Toronto, where he racked up 2,265 penalty minutes — setting a team record.

He suited up in 777 games for the Leafs, placing him in the top 10 for games played with the team.

Domi’s son, Max, was recently drafted to the Phoenix Coyotes, and currently plays with the London Knights in the OHL.

“Hockey has been an extraordinary life experience, serving both my family and me. I hope my story will help people from all walks of life find inspiration from all of my life experiences,” Domi said in a release.
