CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Neil Patrick Harris is heading to Harvard University to accept the 2014 Man of the Year Award from America’s oldest undergraduate drama troupe, Hasty Pudding Theatricals.
The Emmy Award-winning television actor also has had stage and film roles and hosted the Tony and Emmy awards. He played a teenage physician on “Doogie Howser, M.D.” and currently stars as suave ladies’ man Barney Stinson on the hit CBS comedy “How I Met Your Mother.”
He’s being honoured in a ceremony at Harvard on Friday night.
Hasty Pudding Theatricals holds irreverent ceremonies every year to honour people who’ve made notable contributions to entertainment.
The 2014 Woman of the Year winner was “Red” actress Helen Mirren, who visited Harvard last week and demonstrated she knows how to twerk.
