Vancouver police say man charged in elderly victim’s death after alleged attack

VANCOUVER – A charge of manslaughter has been laid against a suspect in the death of an 86-year-old man in Vancouver.

Police say in a news release that 58-year-old Thomas Toth allegedly assaulted the victim outside a Costco store last Dec. 20 following an altercation.

Orlando Ocampo was rushed to hospital and died of his injuries on Jan. 11.

Police say Toth was identified early in the investigation.

He has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court next Thursday.
