GULFPORT, Miss. – Gulfport police say a man who had come to watch classic cars lost control of his modern sedan as he left, hitting two parked vehicles and injuring five pedestrians.
Police tell The Sun Herald (http://bit.ly/2dXrAJL ) reports that the driver of a 2010 Cadillac tried to burn rubber as he left Cruisin’ the Coast on Saturday night, and was cited for reckless driving.
WLOX-TV (http://bit.ly/2dLTqdo ) reports that the car hit a motorcycle and a truck.
Everyone involved was watching Cruisin’ the Coast, the classic car festival across Mississippi’s Gulf Coast.
Well before it ended Sunday, the festival set another record.
Director Woody Bailey says 7,826 classic cars had registered through Thursday. That’s nearly 200 above last year’s 7,639.
Bailey says they came from 41 states, Canada and Australia.
