Raw feelings spill out after another Florida school shooting

OCALA, Fla. – Raw feelings about responses to school shootings are spilling out in central Florida after one teen wounded another with a sawed-off shotgun.

Police say 19-year-old Sky Bouche is being held without bond on charges including terrorism and aggravated assault after firing the gun inside Forest High School in Ocala on Friday, a day of national classroom walkouts to protest gun violence.

The Ocala Star-Banner reports that the Marion County School Board approved $224,000 to put 34 new officers in schools for the last four weeks of classes.

Forest High teacher John Crawford directly criticized board member Nancy Stacy at the meeting, accusing her of “audaciously turning this tragedy into a political talking point against demonstrations.” Stacy has dismissed the student-led protests as “pure liberal fascism.”
