Mazda6 named car of the year at auto show, Jeep Cherokee gets nod for top SUV

TORONTO – The Mazda6 has been named “Car of the Year” by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada.

The announcement came today at the Canadian International Autoshow in Toronto.

Chrysler’s Jeep Cherokee was crowned utility vehicle of the year, beating out 18 other SUVs.

The titles are awarded by 80 expert national automotive critics.

The 2014 Mazda6 mid-size sedan was also named “Car of the Year” by Popular Mechanics.
