Police asking witnesses to Kelowna stabbing to give them a call

KELOWNA – The victim of a stabbing in Kelowna early Sunday morning isn’t cooperating with investigators so police are hoping witnesses can help fill in the details.

A 35-year-old man was stabbed in the 4000 block of Lakeshore Road in the Mission area of the city at around 2:40 a.m. Sunday, June 17.

The North Okanagan man had been stabbed in the abdomen and police said he had been rushed to hospital with serious and potentially life-threatening injuries. The unidentified man is currently in stable condition.

Police say the 35-year-old man was stabbed during a fight with a youth. RCMP have not identified or released a description of the youth.

“The adult male refuses to speak with our investigators and therefore we are asking for any witnesses to come forward to assist police in determining what occurred prior to the male being injured,” Kelowna RCMP spokesperson Const. Lesley Smith says in a media release.
