West Kelowna RCMP release photo of man who may have knowledge on public pool break-in
WEST KELOWNA – Police in West Kelowna are asking for the public's help in identifying a young man as the investigation into a break-in at the public pool continues.
West Kelowna RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey says in a news release that officers responded to the Johnson Bentley Aquatic Centre in the 3700 block of Old Okanagan Highway shortly after 3 a.m. June 13.
Investigators cleared the building and found a suspect or suspects had removed more than two-dozen coin boxes from the lockers in the change rooms, O'Donaghey says. It's believed the suspect or suspects fled with an undetermined amount of cash.
“Police have conducted a review of the facilities video surveillance,” O’Donaghey says in the release. “Our investigators are interested in identifying and speaking with an individual depicted in the attached photo, who they believe has information valuable to the ongoing investigation.”
RCMP describe the young male as Caucasian, with long dark hair, seen wearing a black hoodie, brown pants, a black toque and a pair of red shoes with white laces.
Anyone with information is asked to contact West Kelowna RCMP at 250-768-2880 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
