Alberta’s Kevin Koe beats Territories Jamie Koe at Brier in battle of brothers

KAMLOOPS, B.C. – Kevin Koe ofAlberta won the family feud at the Canadian men’s curling championship Monday, defeating brother Jamie Koe from the Northwest Territories-Yukon 8-3 in eight ends.

Alberta improved to 3-1 while The Territories fell to 1-3 at the Tim Hortons Brier in Kamloops, B.C.

Jamie has never beat his brother when they’ve met at the Brier.

Also, New Brunswick’s James Grattan scored his first win this year against Greg Balsdon of Ontario 9-6 and P.E.I.’s Eddie MacKenzie climbed to 3-1 after beating Quebec’s Jean-Michel Menard.

Saskatchewan’s Steve Laycock also sat at 3-1 after beating still winless Nova Scotia 5-3.
