HALIFAX – A Nova Scotia fugitive wanted for murder has been extradited to Canada from Venezuela.
RCMP say Steven Skinner of Cole Harbour, N.S., will appear in Halifax court Monday to face a second-degree murder charge in connection with a 2011 death in the area.
Police issued an international warrant for Skinner’s arrest shortly after 20-year-old Stacey Adams was found dead in a home in Lake Echo in April 2011.
They say Skinner, 44, was arrested by Venezuelan law enforcement on Margarita Island in May 2016.
RCMP say Skinner was extradited to Halifax Saturday after working with Venenzuelan authorities for thepast year.
Skinner also faces several charges — including aggravated assault, forcible confinement and weapons charges — in relation to a 2009 incident in Lower Sackville.
