Pierre Karl Peladeau set to run for PQ in Quebec election, source says

SAINT-JEROME, Que. – The Parti Quebecois is set to announce that media baron Pierre Karl Peladeau will run for the party in the provincial election.

A source told The Canadian Press that Peladeau will confirm his candidacy at an 11:40 a.m. news conference in Saint-Jerome, Que.

Rumours have been swirling for months that Peladeau would run for the PQ.

Last year, Premier Pauline Marois appointed Peladeau chairman of Hydro-Quebec, the provincial power utility.

The high profile Peladeau is also vice-chairman of the board of Quebecor (TSX:QBR.B), the conglomerate founded by his father which owns the Sun tabloids and the Sun News Network in English Canada.
