U.S. private equity firm buys stake in Dicom Transportation, names new CEO

MONTREAL – Montreal-based trucking company Dicom Transportation Group has a new majority investor — U.S. private equity firm Wind Point Partners.

Wind Point says Dicom’s co-founder, Peter Overing, will retire as chief executive officer but the rest of Dicom’s management will stay in place.

Dicom’s new CEO, Scott Dobak, has worked 28 years in the trucking and delivery industry including at RoadRunner Transportation.

Dicom’s board will have several directors with experience at larger transportation companies including a former CEO of Purolator.

Wind Point says it expects to grow Dicom through a “robust acquisition program.”

It says financing was arranged by Fifth Third Bank and the Desjardins financial group with participation from Laurentian Bank and others.
