SURREY, B.C. – A Surrey, B.C., man who admitted killing his girlfriend has been sentenced for the crime.
RCMP Sgt. Jennifer Pound says Harvey Bracken was handed a four-year prison sentence.
Bracken pleaded guilty to murdering 40-year-old Jennifer Ferguson, whose body was found wrapped in plastic in a North Vancouver park, a few days after she disappeared in January 2011.
Ferguson had lived with Bracken and was reported missing by her family.
Pound says Bracken was arrested shortly after the woman’s body was recovered and that he’s been in custody ever since.
