KELOWNA – It’s that time of year again. The City of Kelowna’s Park Services department is putting out a call for a large evergreen tree to spruce up Roxby Centennial Plaza in Rutland over the winter holidays.
“We’re looking for a healthy 30- to 40-foot fir or spruce tree. A City crew will come and safely take the tree down. This is a great opportunity if you are looking to change your landscaping or need a tree removed that has perhaps outgrown its space on your property,” said Blair Stewart, Urban Forestry Supervisor.
The tree will be decorated with holiday lights as part of the plaza’s Christmas display. Interested tree donors within the city’s boundaries can contact the Park Services office at 250-71-PARKS (717-2757). Park Services will only contact those with a tree suitable. Only one tree will be chosen.
Kerry Park downtown will also feature a decorated live tree over the holidays.
