TORONTO – Some of the most active companies traded Tuesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (14,368.97 up 137.08 points):

Fortis Inc. (TSX:FTS.IR). Utilities. Down 12 cents, or 0.36 per cent, to $33.18 on 11.7 million shares.

Semafo Inc. (TSX:SMF). Miner. Down 12 cents, or 2.55 per cent, to $4.58 on 7.5 million shares.

Whitecap Resources Inc. (TSX:WCP). Oil and gas. Up 18 cents, or 1.46 per cent, to $12.52 on 6.8 million shares.

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Aerospace. Up seven cents, or 1.70 per cent, to $4.18 on 6.8 million shares.

Air Canada (TSX:AC.B). Airline. Up 30 cents, or 5.32 per cent, to $5.94 on 6.3 million shares.

Toronto Venture Exchange (1,034.14 up 0.50 points):

Renegade Petroleum Ltd. (TSXV:RPL). Oil and gas. Up one cent, or 0.67 per cent, to $1.51 on 3.9 million shares.

Pine Cliff Energy Ltd. (TSXV:PNE). Oil and gas. Up four cents, or 2.90 per cent, to $1.42 on 3.1 million shares.

Companies reporting major news:

Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. (TSX:ATD.B). Convenience stores, gas bars. Up $1.79, or 2.11 per cent, to $86.70 on 445,851 shares. The company, which missed earnings expectations by a penny per share, says founder Alain Bouchard, 65, is stepping down in September and handing over the roles as president and CEO to chief operating officer Brian Hannasch, 47, an American who is moving to Montreal to take up his new duties.
