B.C. worker killed at construction site in West Vancouver

WEST VANCOUVER, B.C. – A construction worker is dead after being trapped underneath excavation equipment in West Vancouver.

Police say the 56-year-old Burnaby, B.C., man had been conducting repairs on the equipment on Cypress Bowl Road when it shifted and pinned him underneath.

By the time first responders got to the scene, the man was unresponsive and could not be resuscitated.

Police say WorksafeBC has now taken over the investigation.

The victim’s identity has not been released.
