Death of Alberta man on Shuswap houseboat not suspicious: RCMP

SICAMOUS – A 25-year-old Edmonton man died on a houseboat on Shuswap Lake on the weekend.

RCMP say police and paramedics were called to a report of an unresponsive man on the houseboat near Marble Point on Shuswap Lake north of Sicamous at around 4 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18.

Members of the volunteer-based Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue transported the B.C. Ambulance paramedics to the houseboat, according to a Sicamous RCMP media release.

Police say the 25-year-old Edmonton man was pronounced dead at the scene. RCMP have not released his identity or commented on the circumstances surrounding his death, other than to say he was unresponsive.

The investigation into the man’s non-suspicious death has been turned over to the B.C. Coroners Service.
