Nineteen-year-old woman charged following early morning stabbing in Nanaimo
NANAIMO, B.C. – A 19-year-old woman has been charged following the stabbing of a young man in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island.
Mounties say Joyce Gloria Howard was taken into custody with three other people after the 19-year-old male victim was found with life threatening stab wounds early Sunday morning.
The three other people were released, but police believe Howard was involved in a fight with the victim, which resulted in her allegedly stabbing him multiple times.
Howard is facing one count of aggravated assault and is expected to appear before a provincial court judge on Tuesday.
The victim remains in the hospital and is expected to recover.
