TORONTO – Some of the most active companies traded Monday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:
Toronto Stock Exchange (14,270.33 down 122.77 points):
Fortis Inc. (TSX:FTS.IR). Utility. Up 53 cents, or 1.56 per cent, to $34.53 on six million shares.
Air Canada (TSX:AC.B). Airline. Up 21 cents, or 3.03 per cent, to $7.13 on 5.9 million shares.
North American Palladium Ltd. (TSX:PDL). Miner. Down 9.5 cents, or 17.59 per cent, to 44.5 cents on four million shares.
Strateco Resources Inc. (TSX:RSC). Miner. Up four cents, or 66.67 per cent, to 10 cents on 3.3 million shares.
Manulife Financial Corp. (TSX:MFC). Insurance. Down 76 cents, or 3.53 per cent, to $20.79 on 3.2 million shares.
Kinross Gold Corp. (TSX:K). Miner. Down 6.5 cents, or 1.38 per cent, to $4.65 on 2.9 million shares.
Toronto Venture Exchange (996.97 down 10.19 points):
Tweed Marijuana Inc. (TSXV:TWD). Agriculture. Up $1.03, or 39.77 per cent, to $3.62 on seven million shares.
MacDonald Mines Exploration Ltd. (TSXV:BMK). Miner. Up one cent, or 50 per cent, to three cents on 4.9 million shares.
Company reporting major news:
Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan Inc. (TSX:POT). Fertilizer. Down $1.19, or 3.11 per cent, to $37.11 on 1.7 million shares. The company announced on Sunday that longtime chief executive Bill Doyle is stepping down and will be replaced as CEO on July 1 by Jochen Tilk, a former president and CEO of Inmet Mining with 30 years of experience in the mining industry, although none in the Potash business.
