Bosnian police arrest suspect related to Vucic investigation

BANJA LUKA, Bosnia – Bosnian Serb police say they have arrested a man suspected of being linked to weapons found recently near the home of Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic’s parents.

Police said Monday they arrested the suspect in Banjaluka, on request of the Serbian police. He is suspected of owning and trading in illegal weapons and explosives.

The suspect was handed over to the Bosnian state prosecution for extradition.

Serbian police last month found a large cache of weapons near the parents’ house outside Belgrade.

Serbian authorities said a trunk found in a forest by the house held an anti-tank rocket, hand grenades and sniper rifle ammunition. Serbian authorities launched an investigation to determine whether the weapons were linked to a possible plan to attack Vucic.
