Court denies appeal of man caught in texting sting
MEDFORD, N.J. – A court has denied the appeal of a man convicted of attempting to lure a minor after a New Jersey mother posed as her teen daughter, texted him and then alerted police.
NJ.com reports (http://bit.ly/2wjiQK6 ) state appeals court judges upheld 26-year-old Edward Gajderowicz’s 2015 conviction, calling the evidence against him “compelling.”
Court records show Gajderowicz friended a 14-year-old girl on Facebook in 2012. The judges say the girl alerted her mother after the man suggested they text each other.
The judges say the mother, pretending to her daughter, texted Gajderowicz instead without revealing her identity. He allegedly asked for sexual photographs and requested to meet in person.
Court records show the mother contacted police, and officers arrested Gajderowicz at the planned meeting spot.
He is serving a five-year sentence.
