Woman accused in killing of her mom felt ‘trapped’ by strict parents
NEWMARKET, Ont. – A woman accused in the killing of her mom during an apparent home invasion says she felt trapped by her strict parents.
Jennifer Pan tells police in a videotaped statement how they made her break up with her boyfriend.
The four-hour videotape is being shown in a court in Newmarket, Ont.
Pan, 27, and four others are charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of her mother and attempted murder of her father in November 2010.
The Crown alleges she orchestrated the hit on her parents.
Pan also admits in the interview to years of deceiving her parents about going to school and where she was living.
