Police: Victim dies, suspect apparently killed himself after shooting at Atlanta-area mall

MARIETTA, Georgia – After a shooting at a mall in suburban Atlanta, police say the victim has died of her injuries and the suspect apparently killed himself.

Cobb County police say the two had some sort of confrontation Monday afternoon in a parking lot at Cumberland Mall, northwest of the city. Police said Tuesday morning that 55-year-old Violet Lambert of Atlanta died at a hospital. Witnesses say she had been shot in the eye.

Police say that a short time later, they found a white van they had been seeking at a home in East Point, just south of Atlanta. Police say the suspect, 59-year-old Danny Wray Brown of East Point, was found at the home dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
