TORONTO – Ontario’s Progressive Conservative Leader Tim Hudak says he’s hopeful that theLiberal victory in Quebec could mean a Tory victory in Ontario.
In a Quebec election campaign dominated by the sovereignty issue, the Liberals focused on jobs and the economy, saying they’d take care of “the real issues.”
Voters handed the Liberals a majority government while the Parti Quebecois suffered their worst electoral defeat ever.
Hudak says he believes those issues are also top of mind with Ontario voters, who want to see the province prosper again.
He says his party’s sole focus has been on creating jobs and they’ll campaign on that in the next election.
Ontario could be going to the polls this spring, if the governing Liberals can’t get atleast one of the opposition parties to support their May 1 budget.
