Kamloops RCMP investigating cause of Sunday Overlanders Bridge collision

KAMLOOPS – Police are considering charges after a two-vehicle collision on the Overlanders Bridge over the weekend.

Police say a vehicle was attempting to merge onto the overpass when it crashed into another vehicle on Sunday, Oct. 21 at 11 a.m. The crash resulted in the vehicles ending up off the road, according to photos captured by witnesses.

"One vehicle merged and didn't see the other vehicle going onto the Overlanders Bridge," Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says.

"One lady was checked over and taken to the hospital but it turns out there were no injuries," she says.

The incident is still under investigation and police say at this point in time nobody has been issued a fine or ticket for the collision.

"One might be issued in the future," Shelkie says.
