Stiliadis makes 41 saves as Kings open RBC Cup with 2-1 win over Patriots

VERNON, B.C. – Michael Stiliadis made 41 saves, including 16 in the final period, as the Dauphin Kings came from behind to defeat the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots 2-1 on Saturday in preliminary action at the RBC Cup.

Tanner Butler put the Kings (1-0-0) on the board at 7:57 of the third period to tie the game and Jesse Bernard scored the eventual with just 1:17 remaining in regulation.

Jacob Hayhurst gave the Patriots (0-1-0) a 1-0 lead early in the second period.

Toronto’s Evan Buitenhuis turned aside 27-of-29 shots in a losing cause.

Both clubs went 0 for 3 on the power play.

Later, the host club Vernon Vipers will face the Carleton Place Canadians.
