Stampeders quarterback Tate to miss five or six weeks with shoulder injury

MONTREAL – The Calgary Stampeders expect to be without starting quarterback Drew Tate for more than a month.

Coach John Hufnagel estimates that Tate will be out for five or six weeks with a left shoulder injury.

He said Tate had an MRI exam on the shoulder and is getting an opinion from a second doctor before a definitive diagnosis is made.

Tate was injured during a 39-26 loss in Toronto on Saturday.

Veteran Kevin Glenn will take over and will start against the Alouettes in Montreal on Thursday night.

The Stampeders acquired Glenn in an off-season trade that sent Henry Burris to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
