Testimony expected today from man who complained about judge in explicit photos

WINNIPEG – An inquiry resumes today into the conduct of a Manitoba judge who appeared in sexually-explicit photos that her husband shared online.

The Canadian Judicial Council is examining the conduct of Lori Douglas, an associate chief justice of the Manitoba Court of Queen’s Bench.

Douglas is accused of sexually harassing a man named Alexander Chapman and of being unfit to sit as judge.

Chapman is scheduled to testify today.

Douglas’ husband showed the explicit photos to Chapman, who seven years later, filed the complaint against Douglas that is now before the council.

Douglas denies sexually harassing Chapman and says her husband acted without her knowledge.

She has said her husband was suffering from a mental breakdown at the time.

The investigation could see Douglas removed from the bench.

Some of the photos showed her in bondage gear and performing sex acts.

Last month, some of her diary entries were released at the inquiry. Douglas wrote that her world collapsed when she found out that her husband had shared the pictures online.
