Skier dies at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort near Golden

GOLDEN – A man died while skiing at a resort near Golden on Sunday.

RCMP say the 30-year-old man died while skiing at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort on Sunday, Jan. 6.

Const. Spencer Lainchbury says in a media release the man was reported overdue by a friend and resort staff found him on one of the ski runs at around 7 p.m.

Attempts to revive the man by resort staff and paramedics were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead.

RCMP have not identified the man.

The investigation has been turned over to the B.C. Coroners Service.
