Crash Test Dummies to open this year’s Peachfest concert series

PENTICTON – This year’s Penticton Peach Festival will feature the Crash Test Dummies on opening night.

The headline act hits the stage Aug. 7 at Okanagan Lake Park.

“This is the first time the Crash Test Dummies have played the Penticton Peach Festival and in fact, the first time they have played in the Okanagan,” Penticton Peach Festival president Don Kendall said, adding the group is one of the most successful in Canadian music and is touring again after a multi-year hiatus.

The group is reuniting to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their album God Shuffled his Feet which sold more than 5.5 million copies. The album featured Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm, their most popular single, which made it to number 9 in the U.S. billboard 200 album chart.

The band’s first taste of success came after the release of their first hit Superman’s Song in 1991. Over the course of their career, the band has released nine albums and have been nominated for 11 Juno awards, winning the 1991 Group of the Year award.
