Calgary’s Shaw Communications reports lower Q3 net earnings on flat revenue
CALGARY – Cable and media company Shaw Communications Inc. (TSX:SJR.B) reports a lower third-quarter net income of $228 million, or 47 cents per share.
Calgary-based Shaw missed analysts’ expectations on earnings per share by two cents.
In the same quarter last year, Shaw (TSX:SJR.B) earned a net profit of $250 million, or 52 cents per share.
Revenue in the quarter was $1.34 billion, up one per cent year-over-year.
Revenue in the company’s cable division vision was $845 million, an increase of two per cent, while revenue in the media division was $301 million, down from $307 million year-over-year.
The company’s satellite TV operations had revenue of $220 million in the quarter, up from $218 in the same quarter last year.
