Injuries serious as bus, 12 other vehicles, crash near Chilliwack, B.C.

CHILLIWACK, B.C. – A multi-vehicle crash on Highway One in the Fraser Valley, east of Vancouver, has injured several people.

RCMP Insp. Tim Shields confirms 13 vehicles, including a passenger bus, collided at about 7:15 this morning.

Westbound lanes of the highway remain closed at the Vedder Canal Bridge, 90 kilometres east of Vancouver.

Shields says there are numerous significant injuries but no one has been killed.

Heavy rain was reported in the region at the time of the crash, but there is no word yet what caused the accident.
